January Lip Monthly Unboxing

A while back I was subscribe to LipMonthly (read the post here). However, my biggest issue with it was it wasn't all lip products which if I am subscribing to a lip product subscription that's what I want, so I cancelled my subscription. During December, I received one of those "resubscribe" emails from LipMonthly. In this email, it stated that you can now customize the colours in your bag! So, I decided to give it a shot again!

Manna Kadar Liplocked priming Lipstick

I personally have not heard of this brand before but this lipstick is beautiful! When I swatched it, the lipstick had a cooling sensation on my hand. This lipstick also felt very creamy and had great colour payoff. I also really enjoy the colour which I unfortunately don't not the shade name.

Lord & Berry Crayon Lipstick in Black Red

I have had Lord & Berry products before I have enjoyed them so I was excited to see this product. This crayon had great colour payoff when I swatched it. I also really like the colour which is like a darker red.

Jelly Pong Pong Liptensity Hydrating Lip Gloss in Necessity

I have had Jelly Pong Pong products in other subscription bags before. The colour payoff for this lip gloss is amazing! I also like that this gloss is not super sticky. When I went to wipe the swatch off of my hand, this lip gloss seems to stain a bit which is also great for a gloss.

Hola Neon Velvet Liquid Lipstick in Lavender Soul

I have never heard of this brand before. Also, I have never tried a velvet liquid lipstick. This product had a great colour payoff and the colour looks beautiful. I'll have to update you all about how this product wears.

That is everything that was included in my January LipMonthly bag! I really liked the fact that I was able to choose colours of two of the products in my bag.

Do you subscribe to LipMonthly? What did you get in your January bag?

Stay Beautiful,
Sarah

Colourpop Haul!

So I placed an order on Colourpop just before the holidays! And since my holidays were so busy, I wasn't able to share what I got with you guys so I decided to share it now! I have used a few of the products ( I couldn't resist!) so I will share my thoughts on those products as well.

Highlighter in Fanny Pack

I bought this highlighter on a whim as I need to spend 5 more dollars for free shipping. When I received my package, I thought I was not going to like this highlighter but boy was I wrong! I wore this highlighter for basically every family gathering during the holidays and it looked AMAZING! A little bit of this product goes a long way. I would apply this with my fingers by gently tapping it into my skin and instantly this highlighter would melt into my skin, making it look like I was glowing from within.

Eyeshadow in Cat Nap

I bought this eyeshadow for two reasons; one, a rose gold shadow is my favourite and two, I couldn't get passed how adorable the name was. When you purchase this shadow, all of the proceeds go to the Best Friends Animal Society and their NKLA efforts to Save Them All. I wore this eyeshadow to many family gatherings over the holidays and my birthday! It looks beautiful and adds the perfect amount of shimmer to the eyes. I used my finger to apply this shadow all over my lid.

Eyeshadow in Puppy Love

I bought this eyeshadow because I was buying Cat Nap. Like Cat Nap, when you purchase this shadow, all of the proceeds go to the Best Friends Animal Society and their NKLA efforts to Save Them All. This eyeshadow is a beautiful cream colour that has a golden sheen to it. I like using this on my eyes for a softer look during the holidays. I used my finger to apply this shadow all over my lid.

Lippie Stix in Tiger

This is a beautiful deep violet colour. Since this lippie stix is in the sheer formula, this colour is easier to wear everyday. I loved wearing this colour on it's own but if I wanted to deepen it up ever more, I used the lippie pencil in LBB.

Ultra Satin Lip in Hutch

I bought this lip product because of how beautiful it looked on RachLoves. This is also a deep violet colour. I haven't worn this colour yet but the Ultra Satin Lips do tend to last for a while but are not as drying as matte liquid lipsticks.

Eyebrow Pencil in Bangin' Brunette

I really wanted to try Colourpop's eyebrow pencils. When I swatched this product it was very creamy but I think the colour might be a tad too dark for me. I haven't tried this product yet.

Ultra Matte Lips in Zipper

This is a deep purple colour (Can you tell I'm into purple lips right now?). I haven't tried this colour yet but I have tried other Ultra Matte lips and have liked them as I find to be not as drying as other brands.

During the time I placed my order, Colourpop was giving one of their new Ultra Matte Collection lippies for a certain dollar amount spent. I ended up being able to get three of them. I haven't worn the colours yet but because the formula is the Ultra Matte, I believe I would like them. These lip products as well as the rest of the collection are now available for purchase!

Looks very red but it is hot pink
Wednesday

This is an extremely hot pink colour which I think would look beautiful in the summer months.

Thursday

Colourpop lists this colour as a red violet but I personally see more violet than red in it but again, I have yet to wear it.

Saturday

This is a beautiful blackberry colour.

That is everything I have purchased from Colourpop! Have you purchased any Colourpop products recently? Let me know what you got in the comments below!

Stay beautiful,
Sarah

My Last First Day of College

So as some of you know or even if you don't, I am a full time college student by day! And today marks my first day of my final semester or my last first day of college. So to celebrate, I thought I would share with you all my top five tips for surviving college/ university! These are things that I found have personally helped more or are things that I learned while going through this journey.

Tip 1: Use an Agenda

Everyone seems to offer this advice but it seriously does work! I am personally a pen and paper sorta gal but if you prefer the technology route it will still help keep track of all the assignments and tests you have going on. It also helps you keep track of other important dates like when your tuition is due or when exam grades will be released. I'm personally using the Mambi Happy Planner right now but I have loved the Kate Spade agendas in the past.

Tip 2: Use a To Do List

This can go hand in hand with tip 1. I always like making a to do list, especially on a super busy day because it helps me feel less stressed and I can visibly see what I need to get done. Also, it always feels great to mark things off a  to do list on a busy day. I personally write my to do list on a post it note but there are apps for this too.

Tip 3: Don't be Afraid to Take a Day Off

Some days the stress of assignments and tests can get to much and it is perfectly fine to take a day off. However, if the stress is always too much, it is also important to seek help from a professional. I know my school offers a counselling services so make sure to check if your school does too.

Tip 4: Ask for Help

This goes with tip 3. Don't be afraid to ask for help from your professors especially about concepts you don't understand. Or ask your professors to look over an assignment to make sure you are on the right track. Also, don't be afraid to ask your friends to look over your work or to edit things for you. And again, don't be afraid to ask for professional if you need it.

Tip 5: Enjoy it

Yes there will be stressful times and yes sometimes you won't do as well on an assignment as you thought. But all of this is okay! Enjoy every moment of this journey! Meet new people, attend things you never thought you would, take a course you wouldn't normally pick and just enjoy every moment you can because it goes by quick.

I hope these tips help you or someone you know who is in college/university! Please share some of your tips for surviving college/university in the comments! Also, there are a ton of resources to help you even when you are done school. For example,  Earnest can help you out financially and even refinance your student loans (if you have any.)

Stay beautiful,
Sarah
