October Favourites

This year is just flying by!! It is going to be the new year before we know it (that is kind of a scary thought!) If you haven't guessed from the clichés already, it is the time of the month where I tell you what I've been loving all month...AKA monthly favorites

Caudalie Grape Water

This is a toner enriched with vitamins. I bought this because I heard Caudalie was great for sensitive skin, especially the grape water. I use this product before my moisturizer, I just spray it on my face and gently press it into my skin with my fingers. This product takes all the redness out of my skin and leaves it feeling refreshed. This grape water does have a scent, like grapes, but it only lasts for a couple seconds.

Boscia Cleansing Sponge- Hydrating

This is a konjac cleansing sponge formulated with red clay. This sponge cleanses, exfoliates and because of the red clay it hydrated the skin. This sponge removes dead skin cells as well. I really love using this sponge. Not only does it clean my skin and exfoliates it but it also delivers extra hydration to my extremely dry skin. I find my skin feels cleaner and smoother after using this sponge.

Maybelline Eyebrow Pencil in Medium brown

Since I just started to fill in my brows, I decided to pick up this pencil from the drugstore to try it. The color of this pencil matches my hair color perfectly. I also love how this pencil has a very tiny tip on it, making it very easy to draw brow hairs. The formula of this pencil makes it very easy to smudge the color out so it doesn't look harsh.

Julep Oxygen Nail Treatment

This nail treatment helps strengthen nails that are weak and peeling. It allows the nails to breathe while repairing the damage. I love that this nail treatment adds a slight pink tint to my nails making them look healthy. This product has made my nails stronger and now they are less likely to peel.

Clinique Lash Primer

I got a sample of this lash primer and I absolutely fell in love with it. This lash primer helps my lashes hold a curl and it adds extra length. This primer also holds mascara to your lashes longer, making it harder for mascara to smudge.

These are all my October favorites! What did you love this month?

PS. This was supposed to be up on Friday, but I had some technical difficulties.

Give Me Some Lip Swatches and Review

I wrote about the Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Lip pack in my Sephora Holiday Kits; Part One (here). I did purchase this kit and have decided to share the swatches of all of the lip products included, pictures and of course an honest opinion on the set.

This is a 17 piece set that includes lipsticks, glosses, balms and treatments in nudes, berries, reds and pink shades. This kit is 70 dollars Canadian.
The set includes;
- bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick in Speak Your Mind. This lipstick is an everyday pink. It is a very creamy and smooth gliding lipstick.

- Benefit Cosmetics Hydrating Tinted Lip Balm in PosieBalm. This is a very light peach colored tinted lip balm. It does feel very hydrating on the lips. I did do a couple swipes to get the color to be seen in the photo.

Bite Beauty Luminous Crème Lipstick in Palomino. This is a bright pink shade. I love Bite Beauty products and this lipstick does not disappoint. This product is very creamy and has great color payoff.

- Buxom Mini Full Bodied lipstick in Menace. This is a deep berry shade. This lipstick can be built up to create a super bold berry shade or it can be sheered out to create a light wash of color.

- Fresh Sugar Berry Tinted Lip Treatment. I already love this tinted lip treatment. I wrote about this product in my Fall Makeup Shake Up (here).

- Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick in Icon. This is a bold red. I love the flat applicator on this product and I really like this bold color.

- Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Outlaw . This is a beautiful bright red color. I really like that is product is easy to apply, as it goes on like a gloss, but it has the staying power and color payoff of a lipstick.

- Laura Mercier Lip Glacé in Blush. This is a nice nude color. I personally do not like Laura Mercier glosses because I find them to be too sticky feeling.

- Laura Mercier Crème Smooth Lip Colour in Red Armor. This is a classic red shade. I enjoy that this product can be built up to a beautiful bold red or sheered out for a hint of color on the lips.

- Make Up For Ever Waterproof Lip Liner Pencil in 3C. This is a nude color, I find it to be more on the brown-nude side. This lip liner is super creamy and it glides on very smoothly.

- Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Black Dahlia Lip Tar: Matte Test Tube. This is a deep bold berry shade. This product does dry matte. A little bit of this product goes a long way.

- Sephora Collection Rouge Infusion in 10. This is a deep red shade. I like the applicator on this product and this product also stains the lips.

- Stila Stay All Day Vinyl Lip Gloss in Nude Vinyl. This is a very deep nude. I have the same complaint about this gloss as I did with the Laura Mercier one, it is just too sticky for me. I do really enjoy the applicator on this gloss.

- Tarte LipSurgence Lip Tint in Moody. This is a deep berry shade. I love these lip tints as the add a tiny amount of color. I enjoy the tiny amount of color because, you can wear colors you don't normally wear without feeling awkward. This lip product is perfect for fall!

- Tarte Lipsurgence Power Pigment in Flush. This is a bright berry shade. This product is full size! This adds more color than the LipSurgence Lip Tint and this product also adds hydration to your lips.

- Too Faced Cosmetics La Creme Color Drenched Lip Cream in Naked Dolly. This lipstick is the perfect nude color. Also, like the name suggests, this product is super creamy, it just glides onto the lips.

- Too Faced Cosmetics Melted Liquefied Long Wear lipstick in Melted Fuchsia. This is a bright pink color. The applicator is a foam tip which is very different. This lipstick is a long wearing product.

There is one full size product in this kit but the rest are all great sizes as well. I love that this kit has all the different colors; nudes, pinks, berries and reds, but I also love all the different tones among the products. I like how this kit includes different brands but I do wish there was a bit more variety. I also wish the glosses were not as sticky. Overall, I do really like this kit, I probably wouldn't spend 70 dollars on it again, but it is a good kit to give to a lip product addict or to purchase for yourself to try different brands, formulas or colors.

Will you be purchasing this kit, either for yourself or as a gift? Have you tried any of these products? How did you like them?

Sample Bin Ruffle

Literally Over Flowing
I have a basket where I keep all of the samples I get from Sephora, both in store and online and Ipsy. In the basket I also keep deluxe size samples I get from the different holiday kits and sampler packs Sephora comes out with. I noticed that my sample bin was getting quite full and I decided to make a post out of it.

Today, I am going to pick 4 samples to use up. Once these samples are finished, I will post how I liked them (or not!) along with 4 new samples to use. This will continue until I use up most of them. On to the first set of samples!

Nars Sheer Glow Foundation in Ceylon

I got this sample after I did the color IQ at Sephora. Basically they have a machine that they place on different spots on your face, that doesn't have make up, to find you IQ number. This number then matches you to every foundation in the store that will match your skin tone and undertones. It is very cool and suggest  having it done! This foundation is sheer but can be built up. This foundation has a weightless formula that hydrates and brightens the skin.

Boscia Tsubaki Cleansing Oil- Gel x2

This cleansing oil-gel is an antioxidant packed formulated to remove impurities and makeup while protecting the skin's moisture barrier. This cleansing product also hydrated and protects the skin. I got one of the samples when I bought my Boscia Cleansing Sponge.

Make Up For Ever HD Primer

I have no idea how I got this sample. I already know I love this product as I have had a sample before this one. This product does make my skin feel very smooth and it helps my makeup go on my smoothly and helps it last longer. This product works exceptionally under the Make Up For Ever HD Foundation. This product also comes in different colors to help color correct.

Urban Decay Naked Skin in Shade 2

I got this sample at the same time as the Nars sample. This is a weightless and almost invisible foundation that creates a luminous, Demi-matte finish. This foundation  is formulated with light-diffusing spheres making you look professionally retouched.

That is all of the samples I am going to use up. Have you tried any of these products? And does anyone else have a crazy amount of samples?

Drugstore Haul

I recently went to my local drugstore to pick up a few items that I needed. Unfortunately, I didn't buy the item I needed but I walked out with a bunch of other things. Here's what I bought

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Nail Color in 330-Grey Area and 310-Gunmetal

I wanted some more fall color nail polishes, so I linked these two colors up because they were on sale. I like grey color polishes for fall and both of these were the perfect color. Gunmetal is a more silvery grey, it does have a bit of shimmer in it. Grey Area is a gorgeous grey beige color, it kind of reminds me of Essie Chinchilly. However, Grey Area is more beige.

Covergirl Outlast Polish in 307-Sapphire Flare

I did a review on these polishes here. I wanted to add more colors to my collection, so I picked up this gorgeous navy color. From far away this polish does look black but once you see it up close you can tell that it is navy.

Rimmel Salon Pro Nail Polish in 394-Red Award

I haven't tried this nail polish brand before but I have heard some good reviews, so I decided to get this ox blood color. This color is perfect for fall and winter. This polish is supposed to have a gel like
finish and lasts up to 10 days without chipping.

Quo by Orly Water Transfer Nail Art

These a nail polish strips which uses water to transfer onto your nails. These are like temporary tattoos for your nails. I bought two of these in Kaleidoscope and Mischief. I thought these would be super cool to use as an accent nail. I can't wait to see what these look like or even if they work!

Maybelline Browdrama Sculpting Mascara in Deep Brown

This is a new product by Maybelline. This is a colored gel with a ball point brush. This is supposed to make brows look bolder, more sculpted and fuller. This product is also supposed to provide a natural and even colored finish without clumps. This brow gel is also supposed to be comfortable to wear and is smudge proof.

Maybelline The Nudes Palette

I know, I'm late to the party on this item. I wasn't going to buy this palette but I saw it on sale today and I couldn't say no. I love that this palette can be broken up into quads, trios and duos. The shadows do have to built up a bit to get a good color payoff and there is very little fall out. These are all satin finish shadows.

That is everything I picked up at the drugstore. What have you recently picked up at the drugstore? Any new products?
