Liquid Liner Line Up

I decided to start a new series about liquid liner. Everyone want to find a good liquid liner that has great pigmentation, has a great tip on it, is easy to use and when it comes down to it works! I've picked up a ton of liquid liner over the course of a couple months and I have tried a few great ones, a few "meh" ones and a few bad ones. This series will take you through the good, the bad and the ugly. These liners will be a mix of high end and drugstore in both posts.
I'm starting the series off with the bad ones.

Now I'm calling these liners bad because they didn't fit the criteria I listed above. This is just my honest opinion on what works for me.

ELF Waterproof Eyeliner Pen

The color payoff on this liner is incredible.  What I didn't like about this liner is the tip. It is a felt tip liner, which I personally find harder to use and the very tip of the liner is very flimsy. This makes it even more difficult to get a precise winged liner look. I also find that flimsy tips make it very hard to create a straight line as well. This liner also smudges so easily and its not waterproof at all.
- > The ELF website does list this product as new, so I am wondering if they changed the formula since I got mine

Maybelline Master Precise Liner

This is also has great color payoff but aging the felt tip is very flimsy. This makes it very had to have control over the liner and be precise with the liner. I also found the tip to be uber long. If you were just going to use this liner to line your eyes with out creating a wing, this liner would be good.

NYC Big Bold and Precise Felt Tip Liner

I bought this liner because I was hearing that the slanted tip makes it super easy to create a wing. That is not the case at all. Since the tip is slanted it is very hard to control how thick of a line you want. I also find the color payoff this liner had to be spotty and it didn't last long.

Skone Tattooed Liner

This liner is a felt tip liner that claims to smudge proof. I swatched this liner on my hand and about a half an hour later it had smudged all over. I also find the tip to be very hard to work with as it doesn't have enough give to it. I also found this liner didn't have good color payoff, it almost looked grey.

That is all the liquid liners that I haven't had much luck with. Stay tuned for the liners that I would recommend. What liquid liners have you tried and didn't like?

March Favorites

Well March will be over soon, which means I am almost done school YAY! School has been very hectic which is why I haven't posted for the last two weeks. I promise, I will be posting all this week to make up for that. Anyways, on to the products I have been loving this month

Benefit Gimme Brow

I am not one for those carved out brows, I want something a little more natural. This product gives me natural looking brows in under two minutes. I am in the shade light/medium which matches me perfectly. This product has little fibers in it that are supposed to mimic brow hairs. I am honestly so glad I bought this product.

Sephora Face Masks

I won't be going into too much detail about these masks as I have a whole post dedicated to them (Check back Friday) This product is a sheet mask with good skin properties. I don't have a specific one that is my favorite as I love them all.

Revlon Colourburst Lip Butters

These drugstore lip products are amazing! They are sheer but you can still see the color on your lips. I do have four of them and I love them all. I think sheer lip colors like this, especially ones from the drugstore, are perfect for trying new colors like oranges or more bold colors. I will say to watch from some colors as some are overly sparkly.

From Left to Right; 050. Berry Smoothie, 053 Sorbet, 027 Juicy Papaya, 080 Strawberry Shortcake

Gosh Length N Build Mascara

I bought this mascara simply because I needed a new mascara and I have fallen in love with it. This mascara provides the perfect amount of length. I like that I can add as many coats as I want and it doesn't look clumpy. This mascara also doesn't flake or smudge and it holds a curl for a couple hours.

Maybelline Camouflage Concealer
I finally picked this product up after hearing so much about it on YouTube. This concealer is full coverage but it feels light on the skin. I use this concealer to spot conceal but I have tried it under my eyes and it doesn't look cakey and it doesn't crease.

These were all the products I was loving this month. What products have you been loving?

Six by Spring UPDATE

The 20th of March was the official first day of Spring and I did finish the five out of six products I said I would.

Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer; I only had one use left in this product. I will need to repurchase this product soon

Garnier BB Cream; I used this product twice before it ran out. I won't be repurchasing this product for a while as I have a few too many BB creams and foundations to use.

Maybelline Line Stiletto; I went to use this liner one day and the tip literally broke off making this product unusable. I again won't be repurchasing this product for a bit as I have other liner I need to use.

Dr.Jart BB cream; I had about two uses left in this tiny sample, but I used it all at once to get more coverage. I am unsure if I will be purchasing the full size of this product.

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner; This liner died after the Maybelline one did. I love this liner and I will be repurchasing once I finish up some other liners.

Origins Charcoal Mask; I still have about one mask left in the bottle. I don't use this product every day or even every week, just when my pores need a good cleaning. I really do like this mask and I will be purchasing the full size.

I almost finished all of my products. Did you finish all of yours? Also, what posts would you like to see?

Changes

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to jump on here and announce a couple of things

1) Yes I missed Monday's and Wednesday's posts. The posts I had planned will be up next week. That means next week, you will be getting 5 posts in total. Tomorrow's post will be up on time.

2) After missing two posts this week, I have decided to make a few changes. Starting April 1st, I will only be posting Monday and Friday. If possible, I will post on Wednesdays as well, but it will consistently be two days a week.

This change comes because I just started a new job and school is starting to get busy. I didn't want to cut down the number of times I blog but decided it had to be done so that I can give you all the best content and posts possible.

Thank you all for understanding. Don't forget to follow me on Twitter ( @ beautyjunkiexo )  and on Instagram ( @ beautyjunkiesarah )

March Ipsy Unboxing

I recently received my March Ipsy bag. For those who do not know, Ipsy is a monthly beauty subscription service that is completely customized to you. Each month, they send you a themed cosmetic bag filled with  four to five make up items, tools, shampoo, conditioner etc. It is ten dollars American (For Canadians add 4.95 for shipping). Here is what I got in my March Ipsy bag.

This month's theme is Floral Fantasy

Body lotion by Gilchrist and Soames

This is a great sized sample. The scent of this lotion is citrus crossed with perfume (best way I can describe this). I'm not a huge fan of overly perfume lotions as they irritate my skin, but I will be passing this along to a friend of family member.

Pur~lisse  Cleanser

This product is a cleanser and make up remover made with soy milk. This cleanser is sulfate free and non drying. This product claims to gently wash away dirt and makeup (even waterproof mascara) while soothing and toning the skin. This cleanser can be used on all skin types. I am really excited about this product! I have only heard great things about this brand.

Nyx Butter Lipstick

This lipstick is super creamy and buttery (hence it's name, Sarah). I haven't tried a Nyx Butter lipstick before and was really excited to get this. I think the color is Pops but I could be wrong. This product has great color payoff as well

Boo-Boo Cover Up

I read on the Ipsy website that this product is supposed to be in the color medium. I was a little afraid this product would be too dark for my skin, but it is actually a good match. This product conceals acne and contains natural ingredients that will help heal it. This product is also made in Canada (yay!)

Vintage Illuminating Face Highlight in Crystal Pink

I am probably the most excited about this product. This is the most beautiful pink toned highlight I have ever seen. When I did the swatch, this product felt super soft and very easy to blend. It is not a "in your face" highlight, it just adds a nice touch of glow. I did take a swatch picture, but the highlight wasn't showing up because of how soft this highlighter is.

That is everything that came in my Ipsy bag. Overall, I am rating this bag four and a half stars out of five because I am excited about the concealer, the highlight, cleanser and the lipstick. I took half a star away because I didn't like the small of the lotion but I like that it was a great sample size and I know the person I give it to will enjoy it f. Are you a subscriber to Ipsy? What did you get in your March bag? Let me know in the comments below

Elf Haul

I am very excited to share my Eyes Lips Face or ELF haul with you all. I have tried ELF products before but this was my first time placing an order with them and I had such a great experience.

Natural

Mineral Pearls in Natural and Skin Balancing

Skin Balancing
I have wanted this product forever. I was only going to get the skin balancing color but decided the natural color was too pretty to pass up. This product provides a sheer wash of color from these radiant mineral pearls. These pearls are designed to compliment any skin tone. The Natural color will boost your natural radiance and the Skin Balancing color will give you a more even skin tone.

Mineral Booster in Sheer

This is a sheer powder ideal for all skin tones. The product absorbs excess oil and minimizes the appearance of fine lines and pores for a even finish. This powder can be worn alone or buffed over the mineral concealer and mineral foundation for extra staying power.

Mineral Eye Brightener in Buff

This product is supposed to diminish the appearance of dark shadows. This eye brightener is infused with chamomile, green tea, mulberry and vitamins to nourish, tighten and refresh the under eye area.

Makeup Removing Cloths

I bought this product because I love trying new make up wipes and if I don't like them, I use them to clean up swatches. These remover cloths are supposed to gently and easily clean the skin to remove all traces of makeup, dirt and even waterproof mascara (big claim). In this pack, you get 20 pre-moistened cloths.

As I was ready to check out, I noticed ELF had a promo code for a free Mystery Bag. Here is what I got in my mystery bag.

Swatch of Heartbreaker
Pressed Mineral Eye Shadow in Heart Breaker

This eye shadow is a grey, sparkly purple color. It does look a little brownish in the picture. This eye shadow is very smooth in texture and looks like it will blend easily. I did notice some fallout when I did the swatch.

Swatch of liner

Mineral Waterproof Shadow Liner in Black

I understand that this product can be used as a liner or as a eye shadow. This product does have a good color pay off. This product also feels very creamy in texture and it glided across my skin when I swatched it. I'm not sure about it being waterproof as I haven't tested it enough to know.

Contour Brush

This eye shadow brush has domed synthetic bristles, meaning it will pick up a good amount of product ELF recommends using this brush to add depth to the lash line and the corner of the eye. I however, think this is going to be the perfect crease brush because it is small enough.

Swatch of Superstar

HD Blush in Superstar

This blush looks like a very pretty coral color in the bottle. When I swatched this blush it felt creamy and was very easy to blend. This product is pigmented, so a little will go a long way! I really like that this product has a pump, which makes it easier to control how much product comes out.

Swatch of Flirt

 Hypershine Gloss in Flirt

This product is a very shiney gloss. This gloss is not overly pigmented but it also is not sheer, it is perfectly in the middle.  I think this gloss will be perfect for those no makeup-makeup days or for adding just the right amount of color to the lips. I find that this gloss is not overly sticky either.  I haven't tried using this gloss over a lipstick yet.

Nail polish in Bubble Gum Pink

I have yet to try this product but it is supposed to be a chip resistant formula that provides long lasting color and shine. This product is also supposed to have a quick dry formula that gives a perfect application every time.

Mineral Mist

I was the most excited about this product. This mist is supposed to replenish and boost the skin. This product is made with a blend of Witch Hazel, Rosemary, Chamomile, Honeysuckle, Aloe and Vitamin B which work together to balance and enhance the skin. This mist is supposed to help rehydrate dry skin or to refresh makeup throughout the day. I did spray this product on my wrist and it felt very smooth and fresh afterwards.

That is everything I purchased for ELF. What are your favorite items from ELF?

Drugstore Haul

I recently picked up a few items from the drugstore (basically because I had coupons) and wanted to share them all with you.

Maybelline Fit Me Shine Free Foundation

This is a creamy gel foundation that turns into a matte finish. This product has an anti shine core that is supposed to instantly dissolve excess oil. This product is oil free and is applied best when using your fingers.

Revlon Photoready Insta-Fix

This product is an instate skin retoucher. The technology in this product is supposed to give the skin that "instantly perfected retouched look". This product can be used all over the face, as a touch up or as a concealer.

Physicians Formula Eye Booster liner

This product is not only an eye liner, it is a lash enhancing serum. I have only heard great things about this liner and how it is perfect for the precise winged liner. This liner claims to be water resistant, smudge proof and long wearing.

Essence Color and Go polishes

I had a buy one get one free coupon for this product and I am very excited to try them out. I bough the colors 146 That's What I Mint! and 185 Candy Crush. Candy Crush is the a matte formula that actually looks quite nice on the nails. I have heard that these polishes are fast drying and have a great formula.

Gosh Intense Liner Pen

This liner has a very precise tip and when I swatches it in the store, the color payoff was amazing. This eyeliner claims to be semi-permanent and smudge proof. This liner is also water based.

Gosh Amazing Length'n Build

I was in the need for a new mascara and when I saw that this mascara claims to give visible length, I was sold. So far, this mascara lives up to its claim. This mascara is special formulated to let the lashes remain flexible yet be strong at the same time.

That is everything I bought at the drugstore. What drugstore items have you recently purchased? Don't forget to follow me on twitter @ beautyjunkiexo and on Instagram @ beautyjunkiesarah.

Disappointing Products

I have five products here that I am not happy with. There are many reasons that make me deem a product disappointing. Just because these products didn't work for me, does not mean these product won't work for you, I am simply just giving me opinion.

Rimmel Radiance BB Cream

I wrote a full review on this product for Product Review Mom (here). In short (without giving to much away), this BB cream did not do anything it claimed it would and it was very hard to blend out into a nice even finish.

Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara

I was very excited to try this product even with the crazy over sized brush. After using it a few times, this product started to become chunky and very hard to blend. The brush was okay, a little oversized, but it was easy to use. The color was way to dark for my brows and the light color was too light for my brows, making me wish for a better color selection.

Anastasia Clear Brow Gel

This product made my brows feel like they were super glued to my face. This brow gel made sure my brows did NOT move. Although, most people want this, I didn't like the way my brows felt, they felt hard and crunchy. This product also smells terrible.

Amazing Cosmetics Face Primer

This face primer is supposedly for anti-aging but I decided to use it anyway. This product made my skin burn and once I got through the burning sensation, this product did nothing to make my makeup last longer or go on smoother.

Amazing Cosmetics Amazing Concealer

I have heard that this product gives incredible full coverage but every time I used it, this product never covered or concealed anything. I tried using a small amount at first and gradually used a larger amount until I just couldn't handle this product anymore.

These are all the products I am disappointed with. What products have you tried and ended up being disappointed with?

Six By Spring

During the Fall season, I participated in the Finish Five By Fall Tag (here and here). I decided to continue this trend, for myself and do a Six by Spring. It has the same idea as the Finish Five By Fall but this time I am finishing Six by Spring. March 20th is the first day of spring so I have 17 days to finish up these products

Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer
This is one of my holy grail products and I am almost through it. This product erases dark circles and it can be used a spot concealer. I bought this product in the brightener color, so it is pink toned which creates the bright under eye effect. I want to finish this product because I have a similar product I want to test out.

Garnier BB Cream

This is my favorite BB Cream from the drugstore. This product hydrates, renews, brightens and evens the skin. This product also adds coverage and is an instant correction. I want to finish this product up because it has been sitting in my drawer for a little longer than I wanted, so I believe it is time to finish this product up.

Maybelline Line Stiletto

This product is an ultimate precision liquid liner. I love this product as it is waterproof and it makes my winged liner look sharp and defined. This liner is almost dried and the tip is starting to rip a bit.

Dr.Jart BB cream

This is a sample sized product that I got with a Sephora order. This BB cream is infused with water to provide the skin with hydration. This BB cream also has a SPF of 25. I have been enjoying this BB cream but it is a very light coverage, so I usually wear this product on no make up makeup days. This product did freaked me out at first because it has a grey tint to it.

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner

This liner is my favorite high end liquid liner. I love the tip on this product because it is a brush tip instead of a felt tip. This liner is perfect for winged liner. It is very black and provides a precise wing.

Origins Charcoal Mask

It looks like I am not even close to finishing this product but ever time I go to use it, it gets a little harder to squeeze the mask out. I love using this mask to really deep clean more pores. This is a travel size version of the mask. I want to finish this product up because I have a few masks currently on the go.

That is all the products I am going to try and finish up by spring or March 20th. Want products do you want to finish?
