Sephora Haul

I have a small Sephora Haul to share with all of you today. I was giving some gift cards for Christmas and my birthday, which I decided to buy some items that I have been wanting.

Bite Beauty Line & Define Lip Primer

This 100 per cent natural product preps, plumps and primes your lips. This product is supposed to create the perfect canvas for any lip product whether it be lip gloss or lip stick. This lip product contains many oils to help moisturize your lips as well. The tip of this product can be sharpened and what I find the greatest about this product is the fact that there is a sharpener built in.

Kate Somerville EradiKate

This product is a fast acting, spot treatment for acne. This solution helps to cleanse the skin, reduce redness and diminish future breakouts. I watched Tati talk about this product in her Tip Tuesday Video. This product uses sulfur to treat the acne. I did buy this product on a whim and have yet to try it. I will keep everyone updated on this product. Also included was a foil packet sample of the Kate Somerville oil free moisturizer.

Smashbox Be Legendary Long-Wear Lip Lacquer in the color Flushed

Swatch of Flushed
I did just post about this product in my most recent Sample Bin Ruffle (here) but I loved the coral one so much, that I decided I needed another one. The pigmentation on this product is insane. I do agree that this product claims to be weightless but as far as it lasting all day, I am a little doubtful. Does it last for at least 3 hours? Yes. As far as 8 plus hours, I don't think so.

Sephora Collection Nano Lip Liners in 04 Candid Candy and 15 Royal Rose

Left is 04, Right is 15
These lip liners are crazy pigmented. They are also creamy and glide across the skin. Unfortunately these nano lip liners do not have a huge range of colors, this collection does cover the basic lip liner needs. I have yet to see if this product is long wearing.

What products have you recently bought from Sephora? Want to try any of the products I mentioned above? Let me know in the comments below.

Small Drugstore Haul

I popped into my local drugstore to pick out a new foundation...I ended up walking out with a few more things than expected, (does this happen to anyone else??)

I only wanted a new foundation and this L'Oreal True Match Lumi caught my eye (and it was on sale). This foundation is supposed improve your complexion. It is made with 40 per cent water for all day hydration and it contains vitamins and antioxidants, which is what improves your skin tone. I got this foundation in porcelain/ivory or W1-2. This foundation also has a pump which is a major plus.

I also picked up the Rimmel BB cream. I got the radiant version which is supposed to wake skin up and add illumination. This product has nine skin benefits which include: primes, moisturises, minimises pores, conceals, covers, smoothes, mattifies, brightens, and helps protect. This BB cream is supposed to be light weight and ultra comfortable while providing a natural look. I got this product in the shade light.

swatch of 050 Berry Smoothie
I picked up the Revlon colorbuurst lip butter in 050 Berry Smoothie. This is a lip product provides a sheer wash of color but it is also moisturizing. It does have a bit of a balmy feeling and texture to it. I also noticed some shimmer in this color, but it doesn't appear in swatches.

Swatches of NYC liner

I heard Tati talking abut this product recently and decided to pick it up. It is the NYC big bold and precise liquid eyeliner. This eyeliner has a 2 in 1 felt tip that makes both bold lines and thin precise lines. This formula is supposed to last up to 10 hours, be easy to apply and fast drying.

The last product I picked up was the brow precise pencil from Maybelline. This product has a brow pencil on one end and a spoolie on the other. This product is supposed to make brows look defined and shaped along with keeping unruly brows in place. I got it in the color soft brown.

That is everything I bought at the drugstore. What did you recently purchase from the drugstore? let me know in the comments below.

Rimmel Argan Oil Mascara Review

I recently tried the Rimmel Argan Oil mascara and decided to share my thoughts with you about this product.

When I heard about this product, I had high hopes that this would be a dupe for the Josie Maran Argan Oil mascara. The Josie Maran mascara is 26 dollars Canadian, the Rimmel mascara is 10 dollars Canadian at the drugstore (it's probably cheaper at Walmart).

I like that this mascara was a very black formula, I got it in 003 Extreme Black. This mascara formula also didn't smudge underneath my eyes. I did however, find this formula to be more on the wet side. It did become "goopy" around the tip of the mascara brush. The product packaging claimed that this mascara would stay clump free... it had clumps.

This mascara held a curl for about six to eight hours, (I use the Tarte eyelash curler). I also found this mascara added a lot of volume to my lashes but not much length. I even used my Clinique lash building primer underneath it and I didn't get that much length out of it.

I did like this mascara, but it is (sadly) not a dupe for the Josie Maran one. If you are looking for a mascara that is good for your lashes, adds a ton of volume and is a drugstore item, this is the mascara for you!

Have you tried this mascara? Have you tried the Josie Maran one? How do you feel about this argan oil trend? Let me know in the comments down below.

2015 Beauty Resolutions

Although, New Years has passed, I wanted to share my three beauty resolutions of 2015.  These resolutions are things I want to accomplish throughout the whole year.

My first resolution is to use up products in my makeup stash. I don't have a huge makeup stash like some beauty bloggers, but I do have a far amount. I have already gone through and threw out makeup that was old. I need to use the rest of the make up so it doesn't get old and therefore wasted.

My second resolution is to try new products/colors. I love buying different value sets because I get to try new products but I find I don't try new colors. I have a ton of samples in my sample bin that I haven't tried or used because I'm afraid of the color, for example, red lipstick. I'm more afraid of not liking the way it looks on me or not being able to pull off the color.

My last resolution is to take more risks. This resolution does tie into the previous one. I really want to start taking more risks when using colors and different techniques. I also want to try to wear different types of products, like cream vs powder etc.

These are my three beauty resolutions for 2015. What are your beauty resolutions? Let me know in the comments below.

January Ipsy Unboxing

I recently received my January Ipsy bag. For those who do not know, Ipsy is a monthly beauty subscription service that is completely customized to you. Each month, they send you a themed cosmetic bag filled with  four to five make up items, tools, shampoo, conditioner etc. It is ten dollars American (For Canadians add 4.95 for shipping). Here is what I got in my January Ipsy bag.

This month's theme was Fresh Start

Pacifica Natural Coconut Mineral eye shadow in Ethereal

This is supposed to be a rich, lasting eye shadow which is infused with coconut to create a velvety finish. This is a full size eye shadow. I really enjoy the color, I think it would be perfect for an inner corner or brow bone highlight. I don't see the velvety finish but overall I am impressed.

Coastal Scents liquid eyeliner in Jet

This is a fine tipped eyeliner. The tip is pretty stiff making it easier to create a wing. The color is super black. When I swatched this, it dried quickly and it was hard to remove.  This liner claims to be smudge proof and fade proof. Overall, I am excited to try this product.

Velvet 59 Lip Gloss in Noisette

In the tube this gloss looks like a dusty pink but when switched on my hand it looks almost brown. This gloss has a brush tip applicator which works alright. This product is very sticky and has a sheer wash of color. However, I noticed that the color would disappear, making the gloss clear. This is a full size product and I am not impressed.

Eco-beauty Good day. Day Moisturizer

This is a "highly natural" moisturizer. This product claims to provide ample hydration. And helps to bring back fresher and happier skin appearance. This moisturizer has collagen-producing ingredients which helps reduce fine lines. I am a little hesitant to try this product because of my sensitive skin.

Hey Honey Take It Off

This is an exfoliating honey peel off mask. I love peel off masks so I was very excited to try this product. This is a 15 minute mask that brightens and smooths the skin. This mask does claim to be safe for all skin types.

That is everything that came in my Ipsy bag. Overall, I am rating this bag a solid three stars out of five because I am excited about the eyeliner, the peel off mask and the eye shadow. I'm not liking the moisturizer because I am afraid that my skin will react to it. I am also not liking the lip gloss because of the sticky formula and the disappearing color. Also, I did enjoy that three out of the five products were full size. Are you a subscriber to Ipsy? What did you get in your January bag? Let me know in the comments below

Getting back

Hi everyone,

I decided to pop on here and apologize for my absence over the last few weeks. As I said in a post, I was pretty sick and had no urge to write about makeup (or even wear makeup, shocker I know). By the time I was feeling better, my family and I were getting ready for the holidays. I hope you will all understand that I wanted to spend time with my family over the holidays without worrying about posting.

Regular posts will resume on January 12th with my December favorites.

I hope everyone had a great holiday with all their friends and family. I wish you all a happy and make up filled new year.
