May Ipsy Unboxing

I recently received my May Ipsy bag. For those who do not know, Ipsy is a monthly beauty subscription service that is completely customized to you. Each month, they send you a themed cosmetic bag filled with  four to five make up items, tools, shampoo, conditioner etc. It is ten dollars American (For Canadians add 4.95 for shipping).

This month's theme was Destination Chic! I really like the bag this month! (it also has a snap closure)

Here is what I received

Crazy Rumour HibisKiss Natural Lip Colour in Coral

Apparently this lip colour is supposed to smell like hibiscus flowers...but it smells terrible. Also, this isn't a coral colour, it is more of a bronze shimmery colour.

NoTS 28Remedy Acne Pore Deep Cleanser

I  haven't heard of this brand before but I am interested in trying it. The bubbles in this cleanser are supposed to help clean out pores and hydrate the skin. It is gentle enough to use everyday.

Smashbox X-rated Mascara

This is a volumizing mascara. From what I know, this mascara recently was released, so that is a plus in my books. According to Smashbox, the formula in this mascara is clump, flake and smudge-proof. I can't wait to put those claims to the test.

Aurora Gel Effect Nail Polish in Old School Pink

I have received this brand in an Ipsy before. This nail polish is supposed to be easy to use and dry quickly, like gel polish but without the UV lamp. I'm t a huge fan of the colour and I like that the polish is vibrant and bright -- perfect for summer! It is so bright, my camera had a hard time picking up the colour.

Pacifica Eye Shadow Trio

I have received Pacifica shadows before in Ipsy. The shadows do not have much pigmentation in one swipe and do need to be built up. I think  the shadows are very beautiful though.

Overall, I am rating this bag 3 and a half stars out of 5. I'm very excited about the nail polish, the mascara and the cleanser. The bag received a half star because of the shadows. They are pretty but do not have much pigmentation.  This bag lost a star because of the gross smelling and off colour of the lip product.

April Ipsy Unboxing

I received my April Ipsy bag.

This month's theme is dreamer

See what I received below!

Luxie Beauty Tapered Highlight brush

I love the Luxie brushes! I'm super excited about receiving this highlight brush because I don't already have one. And let's be honest, the blue colour is beautiful!

Probella nail polish in In and Out

I have never heard of this brand before. The colour of this polish is absolutely stunning and the perfect colour for the spring/summer!

Tarte Lipsurgence in Wonder

Swatch of Wonder
I really enjoy the Tarte Lipsurgence. I love the colour payoff that you get with these lip products and I think this red/orange colour is perfect for spring/summer. I also really like the peppermint scent these lip products have. I am excited about this product as I don't have this colour.

Harvey Prince Hair treatment

We all know my hate on for hair products so I won't say much else about it. I will admit that this hair product smells amazing!!

Trust Fund Beauty Highlighter

Swatch of That Glow Tho
This is a super pretty gold highlighter! I love that this highlighter is named That Glow Tho. I've heard of this brand before and I am super excited to try it. I like that this highlighter is in a stick form. I'm also excited that Ipsy included a highlighter with my highlighting brush(major plus in my books).

Overall, I am rating this bag 4 stars out of 5. I'm very excited about the Tarte Lipsurgence, The Trust Fund Highlighter, the tapered highlighting brush and the nail polish. This bag lost a star because of the hair product.

January Ipsy Unboxing

I received my January Ipsy bag.

This month's theme was all eyes on you.

Here is what I received

Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion

I was not excited to see this in my bag as it is a product you can pick up in the travel items section at Walmart. This lotion is supposed to relive dry skin and moisturize the skin for 24 hours. I will be passing this product along to my mom who seemed more excited about it than me.

OFRA Universal Eye Brow Pencil

Swatch of eye brow pencil
I have been dying to try OFRA cosmetics  ever since I read about their liquid lipsticks. This eye brow pencil looks to be a shade that would match me. I personally think it might be too dark for people with light coloured hair. When swatched, it felt creamy and it looked very pigmented. To be honest, I was a little sad it wasn't a liquid lipstick but I think this eye brow pencil will be nice!

Swatch of Mink
Hikari Cream Pigment in Mink

I am super excited about this product! I love love love the colour. When I first saw it I thought it was going to be more grey but I was pleasantly surprised when I swatched it and it was more of a champagne/bronze colour. This product is very pigmented and very creamy.

Beau Gachis Smudge brush

I really like that Ipsy included a eye brush with my eye shadow. This smudge brush feels very soft. What I personally like is it is not super dense so it could be used as a blending brush or even a crease brush.

The Balm Mr. Write (Now) in Jac

Swatch of Jac
I haven't tried much from The Balm so when I saw I was getting an eyeliner I was excited. This liner is very pigmented and it did smudge easily. The colour is more bronze than gold. The bottom of the pencil pulls off and becomes a sharpener, which is very handy.

Swatch of Nammos Pink
I also redeemed some of my points for the treStique Mini Matte Lip Crayon in Nammos Pink. This product is very pigmented and it is a very bright pink.

Overall, I am rating this bag 4 stars out of 5. I'm very excited about the OFRA eyebrow pencil, The Balm eyeliner, the Hikari pigment and the eye shadow brush. This bag lost a star because of the Aveeno lotion. However, I'm glad to pass it along to someone who will use it. I didn't include the matte lip crayon as that was an extra product I picked myself.

November Ipsy Unboxing

I received my November Ipsy bag.

This month's theme is Beauty Blast and I am liking the galaxy bag.

Here is what I got

Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara

I'm pretty sure every ipsy subscriber received this mascara. I have tried this mascara before and it was okay, not great but not horrible.

An SLMissGlam Blush Brush

I have never heard of this brush brand before. The brush feels very soft and I am excited to try this because you can never have enough brushes. I really like the little crystals on the ferrule.

INSPR single eyeshadow in Carnival

This eyeshadow is a very pretty copper/bronze colour. It has some great pigmentation and it seems to blend out quite nicely. it does have some glitter in it but it doesn't over power the colour.

Model CO Highlighting Trio

L to R; Highlight Bronzer, Blush
This is a cream product that includes a highlighter (in the shade champagne), a blush (in the shade Peach Bellini) and a bronzer (in the shade Bronze). I have received the Model Co blush in Peach Bellini before so I was a little unhappy to see it included here again but I do enjoy that it is in a cream. I like that the products are clearly divided. The blush and bronzer have great pigmentation, the highlight does need to be built up a bit, but it does look great after that build up. There is some glitter in this product. All of the creams blend out nicely, easily and evenly.

Coolway Strong Hold Hairspray

By now we all know my dislike for hair products so I won't say to much about this product except for the fact I will be passing it along.

That is everything that came in my Ipsy bag. Overall, I am rating this bag 3 and a half stars out of five because I am excited about the eyeshadow, the blush brush and the Model Co trio. The half star is for the Smashbox mascara because I already know I feel about it. This bag lost the star because the hair product.

October Ipsy Unboxing

I received my October Ipsy bag.

This month's theme is Alter Ego. The other side of the bag is black.

Here is what I got

Nourish Organic Argan Face Serum

This is formulated with apricot and rose hip. This serum is supposed to be very hydrating and for normal to dry skin. I tried this on the back of my hand and I found it to be super liquidy, it felt like I poured half the bottle on my hand. This did have a nice scent but I won't be using it.

Beauty without Cruelty Lotion

This is a fragrance free hand and body lotion. This lotion is supposed to moisturize, soften and protect your skin. I don't typically use body lotions, so I will be passing this on to someone who will enjoy it.

The Balm Meet Matt(e) Hughes Liquid Lipstick in Committed

#awkwardswatch
I was super excited to see this in my bag because I have always wanted to try The Balm. This is a nice neutral color. I will say, I am a little disappointed with the size of this product.

Aurora Nail Polish in Inky Dinky

This is a gel effect nail polish. This polish claims to dry fast, is extra shiny and durable and it is supposed to last for two weeks! You get this gel effect without the use of a UV lamp. I really love this navy-purple color, perfect for fall!

Royal & Langnickel Moda Eyeshadow brush

This is just your standard eyeshadow shader brush. The brush handle is water resistant and has a soft grip. This eyeshadow brush has synthetic bristles and can be used for dry or wet eyeshadow application.

I then traded in some points and receive the Jouer Matte Moisture Tint and the Anti Blemish Primer.

That is everything that came in my Ipsy bag. Overall, I am rating this bag 2 and a half stars out of five because I am excited about the Matte Liquid Lipstick and the nail polish. The half star is for the eyeshadow brush because I honestly don't need another brush for eyeshadow. This bag lost the 2 stars because the serum and lotion are not things I will use. I didn't include the Jouer products because it was an extra I chose.

September Ipsy Unboxing

I FINALLY received my September Ipsy bag.

I say finally because I had a whole bunch of issues with the billing on this bag.

This month's theme is Face Fashion and I'm really digging the expensive vibe this month's bag has.

Here is what I got

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream

We all know I love FAB's Ultra Repair Cream. So I was a little disappointed to get something I already know I love. However, I am happy I got it because I know I will use it all. This repair cream delivers intense hydration to dry parched skin.

Formula X Nail Polish in Ignite

I really love the Formula X nail polishes because I find they last longer on my nails. This color looks like the perfect fall color as it is a red with underlying berry tones. I like that this nail polish doesn't have any shimmer.

NYX eyeshadow palette made for Ipsy

Brown and black are built up
When I saw the preview for this on Instagram, I hoped I would received it. The colours are so gorgeous and they are perfect for a neutral eye. After swatching these shadows, I am really disappointed. The shadows need to be built up to get any sort of color payoff. The colors also come out very chunky.

Trestique Mini Matte Lip Crayon in Nantucket Nude

This lip crayon is amazingly creamy for a matte formula. I was dreading this nude color a bit but seeing it swatched, it looks absolutely beautiful. I am really excited about this product and I may have to order some more.

Not Soap, Radio Hand Cream

I never enjoy receive hand cream because it s product I just don't use enough if at all. This hand cream does have a great scent but I think it would be extremely difficult to use because it doesn't have a spout or pump, you dump it straight from the bottle.

JCat Lipitude in Speak Your Mind

I traded in 500 points for this hydrating lip stain. This lip stain has amazing colour pay off and it has a strong mint scent.

That is everything that came in my Ipsy bag. Overall, I am rating this bag 3  stars out of five because I am excited about the matte lip crayon, the nail polish and the Ultra Repair Cream. This bag lost the 2 stars because the NYX eyeshadow palette has terrible pigmentation and I never like receiving hand creams. I didn't include the Jcat product because it was an extra I chose.
